Welcome back for our March forum, which is themed around obstetric emergencies, and will feature two talks, as well as some practical workshops to refresh your skills in maternity emergencies. (Please note the practical aspects will only be accessible in-person).
Our first speaker is Ali Hieatt, who was the maternity lead at Magpas Air Ambulance before moving to Essex and Herts Air Ambulance, where she is a member of the paediatric and maternity specialist interest group. She has had a long-standing interest in the provision of high-quality advanced care to the pregnant patient given the relative paucity of evidence and guidance in the pre-hospital arena. In 2023, she was awarded the National Air Ambulance Innovation Award for her resuscitative hysterotomy model.
Our second speaker is Stacey Robinson, who currently works as the Lead Midwife at the London Ambulance Service. Stacey has been a Midwife working in London for over 10 years. Starting her career at Kings College Hospital working in all areas of Maternity, Stacey then moved to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital focussing on the education and development of Midwives. Stacey will also be leading the practical workshops, which will focus on skills such as management of postpartum haemorrhage, breech deliveries and shoulder dystocia.
We look forward to welcoming you to our March forum, hosted in Anglia Ruskin University and online. We would recommend attendance in person for this forum, as we will not be streaming the workshops.
